Dr. Phillip Eugene Stine
Bachelor of Science, Pharmacy with Honors Rexall Award Winner-University
of Cincinnati, 1971
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine-Ohio State University, 1975-Upper
Sandusky Kennel Club Award for Small Animal Excellence
Dr. Stine, who is an avid Buckeye fan (we Gator fans don't hold
it against him) graduated from the Ohio State University in 1975.
Upon graduation, he migrated to North Carolina where he worked for
7 years in an 8 man multi-location practice as both a small and large
animal veterinarian. During his seven years of practice in North
Carolina, Dr. Stine developed an interest in soft-tissue, reproductive
and orthopaedic veterinary work. He also traveled the quarter horse
circuit showing quarter horses he was raising on his own farm for
both conformation and performance.
In 1982, Dr. Stine moved to Gainesville where he worked in veterinary
medicine for eight years. His dream was to practice out of his own
clinic, and in 1990 he founded Countryside Animal Hospital in Alachua,
Florida where he has been practicing in the same location for 17
years. Dr. Stine is known throughout North Florida as the veterinarian
of choice for several counties' K-9 units and has consistently been
honored for his service to law enforcement and their K-9 officers.
Having been raised on a dairy and horse farm in Ohio, Dr. Stine
naturally had an affinity for all animal species and developed a
keen ability to identify and diagnose all types of problems in animals,
both large and small.
Today, Dr. Stine shares his passion for veterinary medicine with
his lovely wife Pam. They live in High Springs and are owned by six,
yes, six Cavalier King Charles Spaniels (Sneaky, Tibby, Chrissy,
Amelia, Glory, and Scarlett O'Hara). Dr. Stine and Pam enjoy going
to Dog Shows, biking, working out, kayaking, travel and college sports.
Both are heavily involved in community activities, most especially,
their passion is the PAWS to READ program in Alachua county schools.
On any given day, you will find Dr. Stine deeply engrossed in many
books, simultaneously.
